性质描述: 无色液体。熔点-67.94℃,沸点177.1℃,相对密度0.8573,折光率1.4909,闪点47℃,能与醇、醚混溶,几乎不溶于水。
生产方法: 由樟脑与五氧化二磷经硝除反应而得。先将粉状樟脑和五氧化二磷在176℃共热12h,脱氢生成异丙基对甲苯。经酸碱精制,减压蒸馏,以37%的收率得到成品。
用途: 用于制取对甲苯酚、丙酮,用作染料、医药、香料的中间体。异丙基对甲苯存在于多种精油中,本身是一种祛痰、止咳、平咳药物。
