SAMT-247 is a microbicide that decreases the viral infectivity and infectivity of the progeny virus in HIV-1 infections.
SAMT-247 inhibits HIV by modifying the nucleocapsid NCp7 region of Gag in infected cells, blocking Gag processing and reducing infectivity.
