C18:1 Ceramide (d17:1/18:1(9Z)) is a synthetic ceramide containing C17 analog of sphingosine with oleic acid. It is the key component of cell membranes.
应用
C18:1 Ceramide (d17:1/18:1(9Z)) has been used as an internal standard to quantify ceramides in muscles by Agilent 6460 triple quadrupole mass spectrometry.
生化/生理作用
Ceramides acts as a precursor for various sphingolipids. Ceramides play an important role in cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. In addition, it also acts as a secondary transmitter in cell signaling. C18 species of ceramide is particularly involved in cell growth inhibition.
