The largest family of zinc finger proteins is the C2H2, or Kruppel, type. Some members of the Kruppel family contain a conserved KRAB region that can be divided into 2 subregions, the A box and the B box. ZNF205 (also known as ZNF210) is a Kruppel-type zinc finger protein that contains a KRAB A box N-terminal to 8 zinc finger motifs. ZNF205 may be involved in transcriptional regulation. ZNF205 belongs to the krueppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family. The ZNF205 protein is expressed in heart, skeletal muscle, pancreas and brain. The ZNF205 protein is weakly expressed in placenta, lung, liver, kidney and thymus.
